How I ink the banana way

1. sketch - Usually I set the PSD file to 300dpi, CYMK & in A4. Mostly I like to create new layer to sketh instead on the BG layer. But in this case, I just use the RGB setting instead. Brush is usually from pt9-14 (due it's 300 dpi) & the default hard brush. Nothing biggy, just sketch until you're satisfied with it

2. Then I use new layer to ink it. The sketch layer I set the opacity to 20-30% just that I can differentiate the sketch layer & the inking layer. I often use the same brush settings as my sketch. At the same time I made changes from my sketch when I am not so happy with the initial sketch (For this her hair clip). Another habit of mine is to separate the "eye" layer from the inking & use thicker brush to ink her upper eyelids.

3.Starts to ink the shadow parts of it. I determine the source of light is from upper left so I inked the places opposite from it. Usually I create a new layer for this, as to avoid mistakes & then erased the inking line...

to be continued.....
